Southampton took the lead in the 9th minute through Sin Long, before Nabi Keita equalized in the 36th minute with a powerful header to make it 2-1.
Mohamed Salah's goal came in the 80th minute of the game, from a strong shot to make Liverpool lead 2-1.
He became the fastest player in Liverpool's history to score 50 goals in the Premiership from 69 matches.
Mohamed Salah, who scored 18 goals in the Premier League this season, was second in the top scorers behind Manchester City's Sergio Aguero with 19 goals.
Liverpool are on the table with 79 points, one ahead of Manchester City, while Southampton are in
16th place with 33 points.
